PACKAGING LOVE

How cute is this branding and stationery for an ice-cream event to promote Fedrogoni's London Showroom.
Design by Joe Stephenson. Completely delicious

SOB

Don't you hate it when you take your dying camera (I might have dropped it off the back of a motorbike) to the Camera clinic and

Man: Oh this small problem, I can fix this in no time, with my eyes closed, and one hand tied behind my back, leave it here for the afternoon and I will call you when it is ready for collection

my interpretation of those words: I can fix this in no time, with my eyes closed, and one hand tied behind my back, leave it here for the afternoon and I will call you when it is ready for collection

Man (what he really ment was): I will keep your camera hostage for 7 weeks and not return your calls or let you know what state it is in. Then I will call you when you are back from all your wild adventures where you will absolutely need your camera and tell you that the camera is broken- it looks like it has been dropped- and that you can come and collect its lifeless useless body.

Me: (devastated) ok

So now this is what I dream of when I lay my weary head down after a day of mourning and loss...

1. Christian Louboutin (if this is not your first thought when you close your eyes you are a man.)

2. Canon EOS 5D to match my shoes

3. Sometimes you really can only say it with LOMO, The Diana F+ CMYK to be precise

*Charitable donations in the form of any of these above items will gladly be accepted.

SHOE LOVE

TOP: JT1 at Woolies    SKIRT: Zara    SHOES: froggie

When it comes to shoes, I don't stuff around. They are something I don't mind spending on because a hot pair oh heels can make you feel 1000 times sexier than any wonderbra ever will. Last week the blonde came over for some dinner and greys wearing the cutest summeriest skirt but on her feet were the most delicious pumps/brogue, progues I have ever seen. On closer inspection I was shocked to find that they came from froggie. Now many of us young buckaroos myself included were under the impression that froggie only did sensible shoes that our moms wore- the sort of granny panties of the shoe world if you must - very comfortable and very practical but seriously unsexy. We were clearly wrong.  Go and check out their site here you will be thrilled:).

Those are the progues in question, they also come in black and tan if gold isn't your vibe (but seriously the gold ones are the bomb)

They had a little feature in last months Womens Health mag  I scanned them in for you to browse. You will notice that the boots are from a collection called Soul of Africa. This is such a cool project you can read up about it here that aims to create self-sustainable employment by teaching previously unemployed women to hand stitch shoes so technically you are helping our country out by buying these shoes its crazy its like you are saving the world by feeding your addiction this is too awesome.

HELP ME TO HELP YOU!

Here at Durbs central I am always on a mission to satisfy your needs and find ways to keep giving you lovelies something to keep your monday bloody monday slightly less bum. In order for me to reach this blissful destination, I am going to ask a favor- its not big so don't go de-following me just yet. If you take a gander on the right hand side of the page, you will find that I have added a sneaky little pole that you can vote on and ideally put your own little stamp on things so go on over and start voting hooray!

STUPID THOUGHT OF THE DAY

I just couldn't help myself

BED LOVE

I want to climb into this bed with a big fat book and a box of Cassis vanilla macarons and go to heaven. the end. Oh tea with honey would be nice too.

I AM AN ISLAND

About a week ago I decided it was annual detox time- I was hanging out with the bird on the couch mid movie clutching a hot cup of milky tea drenched with honey snacking on some of those super salty woolies chips (the ones in the blue bag, I  know you know the ones) when I made this decision- nothing ever seems hard when you are drinking tea and high on woolies fumes. You all know the way it goes.

me: (mouth full of salty heaven): Hey boyfriend I think we need to detox, the couch definately feels smaller this week
the bird (mid tv worship) hmmmm honey
me: It will be great we will be full of energy and happy and our skin will be shiny and our hair will be shiny and everything will feel better and all we have to do is cut out wheat sugar dairy booze and anything remotely delicious for 2 weeks, it will be a blast come on we will do it together team work like when we did the argus remember
the bird (still engrossed in the worshipping) hmmm  honey your hair is lovely
me: ll take that as a yes

Well let me tell you kids. THIS IS HELL. Riding the argus on a flipping push bike is easier than this hippie cr@p. It has been 5 days of sugarless, boozeless, dairyless, wheatless hell well atleast in hell they feed you dry bread and water do you know what I would give for bread right now? From the moment  I offered the bird his bowl of grated carrots and lemon juice for breakfast the we part turned into just me alone on the island of my detox. Atleast there are coconuts and sunshine on islands, here there is nothing wild bouts of emotional hanger (When you are so hungry you are angry) and resentment toward anyone who is happy, smiling, eating ice cream and making food that smells nice but isnt on Hitlers detox plan. Detox sucks.

GET OFF YOUR ASS PART DEUX

FREE YOGA AT SUNCOAST CASINO

I understand that the outdoorsy thing is not very appealing to a lot of you due to the whole winter vibe going but once your get going and your blood starts pumping you will soon forget about your cold toes and start thinking thoughts like  'gosh this is actually quite fun' and "wow my bum feels tighter already" and the cold thoughts will become but a small ripple on the surface of your endorphin filled thought pool:) Stretching is as much and important part of exercise as the actual working out part its self. Yoga is such a fantastic way to limber up and also a brilliant stress reliever - when it is coupled with a beach view and a sunset it becomes pretty darn awesome. The Sessions are currently being held on "the Deck' or grassed area in front of Suncoast  every Thursday arvie from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.  You will need to take a bottle of water, a towel and some comfortable clothes you can twist and stretch and get your move on in- shoes are optional.

IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING

This week I am living on cloud 9. Why is that you ask? It is because I recently smashed to bits a goal that has been lying dead at the bottom of my bucket list to do's for longer than I plan to admit. Every year the opportunity presents itself, I make some excuse about bad knees or lack of fitness and then the event comes and goes and I am left disappointed. This year I am hitting the big quarter century (sob) so I figured I had to do something big just to show that over the hill vibe what it is messing with. So I did the training and this weekend, I ran my first ever half marathon and I absolutely loved it. If you had told me 2 years ago of the fate that lay ahead of me I would have literally laughed out loud and bought you another drink. I am so ridiculously stoked I am tempted to get a tattoo of my medal so I can wear it forever.
